** All tertiary students. There has been a change in the rules. The US Government has advised that all South African students are only allowed to work in the USA from 30 Oct 2012 to 15 Feb 2013. This means that the availability of jobs on ski resorts will be limited.
The J-1 Work/Travel program gives full-time students the chance to experience a new culture and travel to a different country during their December holiday. You may choose to travel on your own or with your friends. The visa provides you the opportunity to work for up to 3 and a half months, and travel for an additional thirty days at your leisure.
Jobs offered vary across a broad spectrum - From hotel desk clerks and lifeguards to game attendants, fast food workers or retail assistants, and many more.
Three placement options are provided according to your personal preference:
Organised Placement--> This option is designed to offer you full assistance with the J-1 Work and Travel program process from start to finish. If you select this option, a paid position will be secured for you that corresponds with the dates you are able to travel.
Self Placement -->This option is for those who have found and secured a job on their own. All you need to do is contact us with your job offer, and we will assist you with the necessary documentation and administrative help you need in order to apply for your J-1 visa. In addition, we will continue to assist and support you while you are in the USA. The screening of the self palcement jobs has become alot more stringent.
OVC provides you with a guaranteed job , visa with necessary documentation, and a valuable 24 hour support line while you are away from home.
