USA J1 Work Travel - Students
| Position |
Looking for hard working, dynamic and adventurous students for short term work and travel opportunities in the USA. Positions offered include, working at Ski Resorts in Colorado, Northern California and the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Waitressing, house keeping and retail positions in Montana, Vermont, New Hampshire, Lousiana, Utah and other States not mentioned.
Self placements are also accepted (where the student chooses to find the job themselves).

| Description |
The J-1 Work/Travel program gives full time students the chance to experience a new culture and travel to a different country during their December holiday. You may choose to travel on your own or with your friends. The visa provides you the opportunity to work for up to four months, and travel for an additional thirty days at your leisure.
Jobs offered vary across a broad spectrum - from Ski Lift operators to Hotel desk clerks; from lifeguards to Game attendants, Fast food workers or retail assistants, and many more. Three placement options are provided according to your personal preference:
Organised Placement--> This option is designed to offer you full assistance with the J-1 Work and Travel program process from start to finish. If you select this option, we will find and secure a paid position for you that corresponds with the dates you are able to travel.
Self Placement -->This option is for those who have found and secured a job on their own. All you need to do is contact us with your job offer, and we will assist you with the necessary documentation and administrative help you need in order to apply for your 4 month J-1 visa. In addition, we will continue to assist and support you while you are in the USA.
OVC provides you with a guaranteed job , visa with necessary documentation, and a valuable 24 hour support line while you are away from home.

| Eligibility |
| Any enthusiastic full-time student with a valid passport who does not possess a criminal record, and who is keen to travel! Students should be proficient in English and be a minimum of 18 years of age. (A student is defind as a person attending a tertiary education centre that is recognized by the Ministry of education). Technicon students are accepted. Students graduating in 2011 are also welcome provided you have strong evidence that you will be returning to SA after your 4 months in the States. |

| Start/Finish Dates |
| Depends on the agreement signed with the employer. Employment periods are typically 3-4 months, and range over the months of November to April. Students hoping to work in Ski Resorts must generally be available for the full season. |

| Visa Info |
The J1 visa is a student visa which is valid for a period of four months, with an additional maximum period of thirty days after expiration available before you will need to be out of the country. The visa can be obtained as many times as you like, provided that you can show sufficient written proof that you are still a student.

Normal insurance is included in above program fees, but persons working in Ski resorts will need to take out additional insurance at an additional cost (approx $80). Premium placements are "special placements" that are well sought after and should you choose a premium placement it may in some cases already include ski insurance.
