My journey started after I completed my BA in Psychology and International relations, in the mean time I was Au pairing and really enjoyed taking care of children. I decided to teach abroad and moved to Hong Kong and taught English for a year. It was the most magical year and I traveled a bit around Asia to Singapore and Vietnam, which has become one of my favorite countries. Once my one year contract was up, I traveled to South America and taught English in Peru and crossed something off my bucket list and did a five day trek up to Machu Picchu. Traveling gives you a sense of humility, patience and inner strength. I live for the incredible adventures venturing over seas gives you, and the beautiful friendships you build. Take this exciting step and study abroad in countries like New Zealand and Canada and not only invest in yourself, but have an adventure while doing it.

“Take only Memories, leave only footprints.”

I was fortunate enough to travel to the USA at the young age of 8. I may have been young but after that experience, I knew that the travel bug had gotten to me. It was the first time I saw snow and it felt like something out of a movie. I am absolutely in love with world cultures and all the amazing things, big or small, the world has to offer.
After that trip to the USA in 2002, I was fortunate enough to visit many other countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, Sweden and Latvia.
I was also lucky enough to work for an international cruise line, for two contracts, which also allowed me to see many wonderful places.
My first ship allowed me to see places in the Caribbean such as The Bahamas, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Miami, St. Marten, St. Kitts and Puerto Rico. My second Ship took me to Australia, Fiji, Vanuatu, Hawaii, Canada, New Caledonia and the best one yet… ALASKA!

I believe that the love and passion I have for travelling and experiencing new things is what gets me so excited to work at OVC and help others out there start their journey abroad. One of the quotes I live by is: “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” Don’t be afraid to take the first step into a life changing experience because as they say, “To travel is to live…”

Hi all travellers out there,

I was a client of OVC applying to Au Pair in Holland in 2011 and my dream came true. I Au Paired for a fantastic family in Delft, Netherlands and had the best year of my life. I explored the Netherlands and Paris, as well as a little bit of Hamburg and Italy and that is where the travel bug bit me. I realised that I want to travel more and help other young travellers out there to have the best travels and memories, just like I did. I was in Holland from Sept 2011 until Sept 2012 and joined the OVC team from Jan 2014 and loving every day of it.

My mission is to help others have a fantastic time abroad and inspire their friends to travel along. My travel days are not over yet! I still have so many places on my list that I want to travel to and already been to the USA visiting the Au Pair Academy in New York and then Gaylord Texas where our university students worked over their Dec holidays and went to Thailand visiting our partners for our Teach Thailand program and enjoyed everything about it and learned a lot as well to understand the process our future teachers is going through!

"The best life story is found within the pages of a passport"

My journey with the OVC has taken me from one adventure to the next! Fresh home from my gap years in the United States I began consulting in the early days of 2004! I’ve watched the OVC grow from strength to strength, and to proudly say we are the leaders in SA youth travel! I’m currently the franchise owner of OVC Durban North, East Rand, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Pretoria. We have fantastic crew members countrywide, eager to help young travellers reach their dreams of exploring the world just as we have had the opportunity to!

My passion, travels and knowledge of the United States culture have put me in the role of managing OVC American programs: Au Pair USA, Student Work USA, USA Hospitality Internships and Camp America. I personally handle each and every applicant that partakes in these programs. My role ensures all our young travellers are well taken care of when on their American adventure!
My Gap year afforded me the opportunity to live in the United States for 2 years as an Aupair and to travel extensively throughout the USA. My travels have taken me through to the UK and Ireland, Africa, Middle East and one of my favourite areas, the Far East! Travelling allows you to experience new cultures, new people, new adventures and make lifetime memories.
To all those inspired to travel, to find new adventures and to discover themselves, I encourage you all to take the steps I have. You will never regret your decision to venture out of South Africa!
