OVC works with a number of established hotel and retail groups and agencies. Due to the economic situation in Dubai at the moment , this program has been placed on a demand basis only. When we have a placement drive ready emails will be sent out advising what positions are available - At this stage you are invited to apply should you fit the position.
Most positions include a Tax-free salary. Salary depend on the position and contract offered.
Free Airfare Employers usually pay for your entire airfare and depending on your contract usually offer you a free airfare after every year.
Organised accommodation Depending on your position you could be sharing with other employees. Accommodation is usually very organised and clean.

Visa - To work in Dubai you need a work permit. Your employer will apply and pay for it. This will be transferred into a residence visa once you arrive in Dubai and have passed a medical test (HIV, TB & Hepatitis are the main tests conducted). Clients that are HIV positive will be tested in South Africa and if found positive in the Middle East they will jailed by authorities, for the period decided on the authorities and the employer.
Benefits - Salaries are tax free and paid in local currency, the Arab Emirates Dirham (AED), linked to the US$. Furnished accommodation is usually provided, if not an allowance will be paid. Medical insurance will be covered and depending on the position, either an annual or biennial air ticket is provided, along with an annual bonus or a monthly service charge.

As mentioned application for this program is on a demand basis ONLY. Please hand in your details into your OVC office and then you will be sent an email of possible Job positions available. Please note should the employers come out for Interviews It could be in any of the 3 major cities (Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town) If you are wanting to attend the interview you will need to get yourself to the city where they are being held at. Please also note: 1.) Venues, times and dates of interviews will only be given to clients once they have registered with OVC. 2.) Take the correct documents with you to the interviews as prescribed by OVC. 3.) Interviews can last the whole day, so be advised to rather put in a days leave to avoid any inconvenience. 4.) When attending interviews, only the room is provided and therefore no refreshments, please bring your own refreshments if required. 5.) OVC has no control over the way in which the interviews get conducted, as every company/recruiter does it in their own way, and can be conducted in a group or individually.

Dubai - The 2nd largest of the 7 Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is located on the southern shore of the Arabian Gulf. Current population approx. 1.67 million, set to increase to 3.5 million by 2010. 80-85% of the population comprises of expatriates – Arab, Asian, European and others. Weather - Sunny blue skies throughout the year. June to September is hot and humid with temperatures averaging above 40oC. The weather is pleasant from October to May. All vehicles and buildings are air-conditioned. Language - The official language is Arabic, however English is spoken especially in the hospitality industry.
